Joe Biden & Kamala Harris Drop Inauguration Merch

We did it, Joe! For people the world over, Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration can’t come soon enough. And like almost every event in the age of hype, the momentous occasion has inspired some merch.

On January 20, President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will be sworn in as the next President and Vice President of the United States. However, this is not just another swearing-in. Following four years of bigotry and one of America’s most tumultuous elections, this transition has become somewhat of a symbol for, you know, common sense and not being a racist reactionary.

As the much-dreamed-of-day looms, Biden and Harris have become the subjects of an expansive series of apparel, accessories, home goods, and other merchandise. Mastering the hype, Biden’s official Inaugural Committee has tapped five designers to memorialize the historic event: Kanye West collaborator and DONDA’s ex-Art Director Joe Perez, along with Thakoon Panichgul, Aurora James, Gabriela Hearst, and Roxanne Assoulin.

In the Presidential elections, Biden hit record numbers with the youth and first-time voters, and his official inauguration merch speaks to precisely these supporters. A refreshing break from boring campaign merch of old – or those popular racist caps – the designers selected have delivered limited-edition products that actually look cool. Not only that, but along with being wearable testaments to your love of democracy, all products are made in America by union workers. And the capsule is fittingly titled “Believe In Better.”

Leading the lineup is a black hoodie by Joe Perez. Biden joins a long and prestigious list of Perez’s clients, alongside the likes of Beyoncé, Kanye, Travis Scott, and Nicki Minaj. The triumphant hoodie belongs at a concert merch table, emblazoned with messages of hope in all-caps – “UNITED AMERICA,” “RECLAIM OUR SENSE OF PURPOSE,” and  “A TIME TO HEAL” – as well as the Biden-Harris portraits on the back, and a grid map of America. Meanwhile, U.S. states are listed on the sleeves like tour dates.

Then there’s a tie-dye crewneck by CFDA Award winner Gabriela Hearst, which is especially noteworthy – because what screams “thank you Gen Z-ers for voting” more than tie-dye inauguration merch? Or how about the baby blue “Kamala” cap? Which is the total antithesis of the MAGA hats of the outgoing administration.

Whether you’re a die-hard Biden-Kamala fan or just love the sweet taste of democracy, get kitted out for inauguration day with the official and ethically-made merch. Check out these pieces and more on Presidential Inauguration Committee Store’s website, ranging from $30 (for socks) to $125 (for Hearst’s crew-neck).
